Medical Faculty was the winner of this challenge, we won the Male Double, Female Single and Female Double. Each faculty had sent representatives for the Male Single, Male Double, Female Single and Female Double. The Badminton Challenge was held on 15 March 2011 (Tuesday) in gymnasium 2 at 6pm. The fight between the future lawyers and doctors started with Badminton Challenge.

A series of competitions were held: Sports (Badminton, Basketball and Futsal), Debate and Forum. This year, the battle lasts for 4 days, from 15 March till 19 March 2011. The main purpose of holding this event is to strengthen the bond between the Law students and Medical students via sports events besides encouraging the sharing of knowledge among students from different faculty. The battle between the Law students and Medical students is an annual event started from year 2010. The first event of Medical Society Year 2011/12 – Law-Med Challenge 2011. To raise funds for Baktisiswa this year, we have planned some fund-raising activities such as organising a car-wash, selling medical books, getting some corporate sponsorship and others.Īs I mentioned above, organising a car-wash is one of the methods we choose to raise funds for Baktisiswa this year. However, to do all these, we will need a substantial amount of money. Only the greatest project known to mankind! What better way to serve the community, communicate with villagers as well as impart our knowledge of basic healthcare! How exciting! Well that is the gist of it.

We are offering free medical check-ups, provide free medicine, have ‘gotong-royong’s, exhibition on health and hygiene, first aid demonstration, “Keluarga Angkat” Programme, sports and the list goes on. Looking forward to it! Let’s all work together to make this experience worthwhile and unforgettable 🙂 This year Baktisiswa will be held in Kampung Lobong-Lobong, Kota Belud, Sabah from the 1st till the 6th of July. What is Baktisiswa you ask? Well, in short, Baktisiswa is a program where we “Mahasiswa & Mahasiswi” from the MBBS program of University of Malaya go to a somewhat rural “kampung” and offer medical services to the villagers there.
